Institute for Service Management (IDM)
A special focus of the institute’s research approach is on the tourism industry as an important source of impulses for the understanding of services. This includes companies in the hotel and hospitality industry. Since this sector is characterised by small and medium-sized enterprises, the majority of the institute's projects take place in this context. Nevertheless, small and large enterprises also benefit from our scientifically sound findings.
Since its founding in 2015, the Institute for Service Management has dedicated itself as a research institute of the SRH Dresden School of Management. Researching relevant questions on topics of service management. One of the focal points of our activities is the long-term sustainability of these companies. In this respect, we research elements and effects of an innovation-friendly management approach. In addition, we feel committed to sustainability awareness.

The tourism industry faces the challenge of generating future growth with the help of independent innovations, among other things. In contrast to innovations in material goods, there is still a great need for research in tourism service innovation.
