What are the success factors for good and successful networking? This question is addressed in a practical way by students of the study programme "International Hotel Management | DUAL (B.A.)" at the Dresden School of Management as part of a project cooperation with the world's first business ecosystem platform for the hospitality industry, Hotellernet.com. Based on a projected pre-opening phase and other operational challenges, the project will test how reliable business relationships can be established and maintained in the hotel industry. "If you consistently think of a network as an exchange of the most important personal and professional competences, then you ultimately have to build "give & get" relationships in order to achieve sustainable success in the hospitality industry. In this way, an ecosystem also automatically builds itself as an expertise platform for all questions concerning the operational in the hotel industry, so that this involvement of the young generation is the logical link for us with the professionals of the future," says Nils-Carsten Huber, founder and CEO of Hotellernet.com. "With this cooperation, students will learn to appreciate the value of strategic networking and be able to distinguish it from behaviours on generic platforms such as ghosting. Despite any crisis, the goal of becoming a hotel manager and making a global career in the hotel industry remains unbroken for many, and a reliable network is an important building block for this," says the head of the study programme, Prof. Dr. Hartwig Bohne. "The committed development and (experience of) networks means much more than "making contacts" and has nothing to do with so-called "rope relationships", but is the positive application of relationship management in the professional environment."
