Student project of the Master students "Hospitality Management & Leadership" together with Limehome GmbH

In the last summer semester, the students of the Master's programme "Hospitality Management & Leadership" worked in the modules “Real Estate, Asset Management and Experience Design” and “Case Study Hospitality Industry Team Project” together with Limehome GmbH, a provider of serviced appartements in Germany, Austria and Spain. Prof. Dr. Vanessa Borkmann initiated this project together with Andrea Rother responsible for Real Estate Expansion at Limehome .

The module was based on a real hotel development operated by Limehome. The case was about to plan an actual project including market analysis, conceptual design (e.g. dual brand, planning of room mix and common areas), costing, marketing concept, project plan, etc.

During the lectures, students were in contact with outstanding experts. Beginning with Ricky Bichel, who gave insights into how to conduct a Feasability Study & Market Analysis, followed by Andrea Rother with a lecture about Asset Management and Business Development. Another guest lecture, held by Jose María Llosa and Niklas Binter deepened the subject of Expansion in International Markets.

In one of the three inbetween reviews, we welcomed Svenja Büsching, a former manager at Hilton, as a guest critic who gave feedback on the group presentations and provided great advise and practical knowledge.

Each of the three student teams came up with a great approach and professional concept solutions to the given, challenging task. All necessary calculations to prove a successful business case were rendered as well.
